Our mission at Drain Designs

Our Mission

To lead the drainage industry by protecting homes, properties, and communities through innovative drainage solutions, exceptional service, and superior systems designed to keep your home and property healthier for the long term.

Our Commitment

At Drain Designs, we understand that true excellence goes beyond solving drainage problems. It means doing what's right for our customers, standing behind our work, and continually finding better ways to protect homes, properties, and the people who depend on us.

Our History & Experience

Kevin Kondas founded the company in 2002 as K Squared Masonry, and in 2012 it became Drain Designs. It has grown into a franchise network dedicated to protecting homes, properties, and the people who depend on them.

Kevin understands firsthand the devastating consequences of poor drainage and moisture problems. His own mother lost her home due to severe mold contamination. Robert West, Drain Designs' first franchisee, experienced a similar hardship when mold problems forced his family to leave their home due to health concerns.

These personal experiences, combined with years of repairing costly damage that could have been prevented through proper drainage and waterproofing, inspired Kevin to seek better, longer-lasting solutions. They also fueled his passion for protecting the health, safety, and structural integrity of homes and properties.

Kevin began his career at age 13, working in his family's concrete and masonry business. His craftsmanship earned recognition in Better Homes and Gardens magazine as a 2009 outdoor improvement award winner, and his work was also featured on the cover of The Triangle Remodeler.

Throughout two decades of residential and commercial masonry work, Kevin regularly installed drainage systems to protect his projects and his customers' homes. Recognizing a lack of contractors specializing in drainage and waterproofing, he developed a reputation for providing effective, reliable solutions.

As demand for his drainage and waterproofing expertise grew, these services gradually became the primary focus of his business. Kevin eventually dedicated his career entirely to developing Drain Designs and advancing the drainage industry.

With four decades of hands-on experience in construction, drainage, and waterproofing, Kevin has built Drain Designs, Drain Designs Franchising, and American Drain around a shared commitment to innovation, quality workmanship, and doing what's right for every customer.

Today, each Drain Designs franchise is independently owned and operated, united by a shared passion for protecting homes, properties, and communities through better drainage solutions and responsible rainwater management.

Client Testimonials

Amazing job!!!! We are extremely happy with the final project installed by Robert and his crew!! Our house is at the bottom of the street and when it rains our yard becomes a mud pit for the dogs!! You can imagine. We also noticed a lot of pooling of water from the downspouts. You know the saying ” you pay for what you get” is a true statement!!! We attempted to address the problem with corrugated piping. It did not address the problem and caused more frustration!!! Robert and his crew installed their product and within the first rainfall we noticed a huge difference and the yard was dry almost instantly!!!! Worth every penny, I just wish we called sooner!! Robert will give an honest assessment what is needed for your drainage needs!!!

Rob, Mark and Dalton did an excellent installation of drains in the yard, multiple downspout tie-ins and improving our crawl space drainage. The yard was minimally disturbed and what little that occurred was repaired flawlessly. The guys worked till 10 pm to beat the expected rain that night. The original home builder had made a few serious errors in drainage that only became evident after the digging commenced. Rob made corrections on the fly that took care of these issues. I would recommend this team to anyone with drainage issues.
